Bubbles!

I bought a few new bubble wands for Bryson yesterday. He loves popping the bubbles and trying to wave the wand to make bubbles and it has been so beautiful outside lately, so it's been a lot of fun!

Michael, Bryson and I went in the backyard to play with the bubbles today and oddly enough, Bryson was pretty ho-hum about the bubles, but Orion went crazy! He was runing and jumping all over the place biting the bubbles. If the bubbles went too high or popped before he could get them, he started whining. It was hilarious! Michael and I blew bubbles for the dog for over 30 minutes while Bryson ran around the backyard playing/eating leaves. :)

I think we might just have to have another bubble day tomorrow :)

14 Months

I skipped Bryson's 13 month post on accident and since he is practically a brand new kid since I updated at  12 months, I figured I'd give you a little "blog glimpse" of what life is like in the Fant house. And, let me tell you, we are having SO much fun and moving a warp speed around here!!

(I have to warn you that I don't know where my cord is, so there aren't many pictures this time :( What good is a post without pictures, right? I'll upload them as soon as I can!)

He is SO much fun! Michael and I are always laughing at him and things that he's learning how to do. I wish we could just have a video camera on him 24/7.   :)  He's learning so so much every day. I don't even know if a blog post could do this sweet boy justice!!! Let's see:

~He had earned the nickname "Goose" in the last few months. I found myself saying, "You are such a silly goose!!" and finally just shortened it to "goose"
~ B can do the hand motions to the "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes", and "This Little Light of Mine"

~ Signs: more, diaper, eat, milk, drink, all done

~ Can point to his belly, eyes, nose (usually,  his finger goes straight up his nose!), ears, tongue, head, toes, mouth

~He kows what sounds a cow, sheep, snake, lion, tiger, bear, elephant, monkey, and pirate-thank you, grandma!- make

~Makes a fish face-LOVE when he tries this!!! He puckers up and immediately goes in for a kiss when I say "fish face!"

~Loves to be outside and play at the park. He just learned what the "big boy slide" is, and is obsessed

~ If we ask where a toy is, or where Daddy is, or what happened....basically, if we ask him a question, he turns his hands out like "where is it? I dunno!!" and opens his mouth really big. :) This is one of my favorite things right now ;)

~Waves hi, bye, and blows kisses to every one he sees

~He's really getting into things lately and trying to test limits a little bit. When he knows he's about to do something wrong, he walks around shaking his finger saying "nuh nuh", but then does it anyway. The other day he went into the back hall for a minute and came back a minute later shaking his finger and saying "nuh nuh". I asked him what happened and he walked me back to our bath room and he had completely unrolled the entire toilet paper roll!! haha It was adorable!!

~ He's only saying a few words, but theyuhre the cutest little words in the world!! He tries to repeat almost everything we say, but I can really only decifer a little bit.
night night (I'm sleepy and want to go to sleep)- ni-ni
daddy- da da
mommy- ma mama
dog- dah
door- doh
all done- ah duh
no no- nuh nuh
uh oh- uh uhh
ball- bah
bottle- baba

~He loves reading books. He'll go get a book from the shelf and run to sit in my lap and read  flip through 2 pages and runs to get another book

~ He loves LOVES playing basketball. I mean, LOVES basketball!! It's the first thing we do when we get home from school and the last thing before bedtime. He has the biggest, brightest smile on his face the entire time he is holding a the ball. And, if we see a basketball goal while we are out (on a walk, at the store) he goes nuts and points and squeels and huffs and and waits until he can at least just get close to it for a little while. It's really adorable :)

~He's running all over the place, and occasionally gets going way too fast and runs straight into a wall or chair

~B LOVES to do summersaults. He stands up, bends over and puts his head on the ground and we roll him over. He lays on his back and laughs and signs "more" and we do it over ad over and over....

~He is still climbing on ev.ery.thing.!!! In fact, he just got in trouble at school for climbing on the chairs and standing on the table :/

I know I always say this,  but I love this fun stage with him. He's really understanding and learning so much an he just laughs all the time.  I really can't wait until Spring break when we can spend all day every day playing and learning!

Happy 14 months, sweet boy!!

Guys Night In

A while back a friend told me about a really fun place she went with a few friends. I looked it up online and decided immediately we needed to get a group together to go. :)

You know the books "So-and-so For Dummies"? Well this is like a painting class for dummies. An artist takes you baby-step by baby-step through the entire painting, all the while you are laughing at your own painting and oooh-ing and aww-ing over the person's next to you and drinking a glass of wine :)

Jen, Steph, Alicia, Cara and I went and had a blast!! Michael stayed home with B, hence the title. :)

We started with a stark white canvas. It was pretty intimidating. I'm not an artist. At ALL. (I told Michael we would probably have to end up hanging it up in the attic or the closet because it would be so awful. haha!) It actually turned out pretty well, so maybe it can go up in a high traffic area of the house. ;)

Cara and I made a quick run next door to Tom Thumb to grab a few desserts so we had cookies and M&Ms to snack on during the second half. MMmmm, yep, I ate way too many cookies.

We all painted the same painting, but it's funy how unique they are. Before we started, the artist/teacher said you'll be able to see your own personality come though the painting when it's finished. Thankfully, no one could hear me chuckle to myself, because in the end, it really is true! :)

I had so so much fun with everyone and laughed so hard the entire class. :)
If you're looking for a fun girl's night out, I would definitely recommend this place!!!

Snow Day 5.0

"It won't be long before we'll all be there with snow. Snow. I want to wash my hands, my face and hair with snow."

Name that movie. :)

And, just in case you forgot, I LOVE snow! I have all the blinds in my house open so I can see the white fluffy wonderful-ness outside on the ground! :)

Most North Texas school districts are on their 5th snow day in the last 8 days. Possibly another day of tomorrow as well. LOVE.

We haven't ventured out in the snow today yet, but I have pictures from last week to share.

After playing outside we went inside for lunch and Snow Cream!! My mom made snow cream for us every year growing up. After a long day of skiing, we would go get a giant bowl of snow and sit by the fireplace and eat our snow cream!! Brings back so many fun memories in Breckenridge!

Snow Cream
4-5ish cups of snow
1 cup Milk
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla

Mix and enjoy!!

Went back outside for round 3, 4, and 5 later that day and Saturday! :) We're a snow-lovin' family!

Happy snow day!! Stay warm! :)

Dinner Date

After being iced inside all week, the roads cleared up and we were able to get out and about. I went to Stephanie's baby shower Saturday morning and then Ray and Alicia came over later that night for dinner.

Bryson loved having other people to play with. He was such a little flirt with Alicia. It was adorable! He gave her a big hug and then ran to his ball pit and brought one ball to her at a time until she was covered in balls. So cute!

A little later, he brought a book to her a plopped down in her lap to look at the animals.

Then, he had a little show-off time. He sang "Head and Shoulders" for her. Well, I sang and he did the motions. :) He's soo much fun!
(borrowed her pictures for this one.)

We had soo much fun with them and stayed up entirely way too late playing games and chating. But it was a great night!!!!

Iced In

Well, I have "waited 'til tomorrow" and the entire North Texas area is completely iced over. We're going on our 3rd day of school cancellations and the wind chill got to -10 today. I went outside for about 30 seconds this morning to make sure our pipes were still wrapped and it was so cold, it hurt. I love the cold (read: snow) but this weather is just crazy...for Texas, anyway!

Sadly, Michael has still had to go to work these last 2 days. Apparently something about people still wanting their money from the bank and yaddie yadda...  :)  Thankfully, he works about 4 miles away from the house.
Meanwhile, B and I have had so so much fun playing all day long. I truly love spending every second of the day with him. He is SO much fun!

B loves loves to be outside. We usually try to go to the park and play outside everyday, but the past few days have been waay too cold, and I think Bryson is having withdrawls. We tried to go outside yesterday for a few minutes, but Momma was slipping and sliding all over the place. Bryson, on the other hand, has these awesome Skidders shoes that grip the ground so well, he only fell once the entire time we were walking on the ice and it was because he ran down the hill. Haha!

It was way to cold to take B outside today. He kept banging on the back door yelling "duh" trying to tell me he wanted out. When he realized his point wasn't getting through, he found his winter coat and brought it to me, like, "Mom, I need this on NOW so I can go outside please!". I indulged him and he wore his coat on top of his jammies around the house for about an hour. :)

I have to charge the video camera tomorrow because the video on my phone is terrible and will probably give you a headache, but I have to share these. This kid is adorable!!

B has started trying to jump when he's holding a ball, as if he's about to make a jumpshot. He's got it completely down....except for the getting off the ground part. :)  I tried to get him to do it, but he obviously just wanted to play with the ball :)

He loves hide and seek and now turns his hand out when he doesn't know where something/someone is.

Can't wait for snowday #3 tomorow!! :)
