I love his sweet laugh!!

This one is from yesterday...hanging out with his car....which he loves!
Complete side note: he started cutting his first tooth yesterday, too! Big boy :)

Family Reunion

We just got back from the anual Carpenter Family Reunion and had a blast! We go to Possum Kingdom Lake and just relax and catch up on life.

I'll just let the pictures do the talking :)

Using the cup holder as a kaleidoscope. :)
Just the usual "blood taking" time of the weekend. Don't act like your family doesn't do this, too. {Ok, fine. I guess I should mention she's starting med school and this was her homework. Ha!}
Carter loved playing with Bryson! He was so sweet and gentle with him :)
The whole gang! We had so so much fun with everyone. I think it's so special that everyone gets together like this every year. I already can't wait until next year!!
We drove through Bryson, Texas again this year and had planned to take a picture of Bryson with the sign, but he was asleep and we weren't even going to wake him up for the picture.
After the reunion, we met Granny and Granddad in Ft. Worth for lunch. How fun that we got to see both sets of Michael's grandparents in the same weekend!

7 Months

Our little man is 7 months old!

Bryson is growing and changing SO much, I can hardly keep track of everything.

He keeps Michael and I laughing all day long with his expressions and noises. He makes the silliest noises. Let's just say he knows what sound a lion makes.  :) I love it! He growls/roars when he gets excited or really wants something. And, speaking of animals, he likes to throw in a little "bear crawl" when he's crawling. He sticks he booty up in the air, moves a little and then goes back down on all fours.

Going along with the animal theme; he also eats like a pig. :) He eats a hefty bowl of oatmeal or rice cereal with 2 ounces of milk and 3 ounces of veggies 3 times a day and nurses 4 to 5 times a day. I broke down and started using formula in his cereal about a month ago and it's gone really well. He's reverted back to his newborn days and is just completely refusing bottles again. I should have listened to my mom and given him bottles consistently over the Summer...oops! Mama Mel bought him a sippy cup so we're working on that right now.

He enjoys crawling, but he really really wants to just get up and walk. Like, REALLY badly. He's pulling up on pretty much everything, but especially likes using our hands, legs, etc, to stand up with. He'll walk a little bit (with us holding his hands) and his face completely lights up and you can tell he is SO proud of himself. He loves it!

But, as Isaac Newton stated, "what goes up must come down", B is definitely taking his fair share of tumbles. Poor baby has a bump on his eyebrow tonight. Last night it was his forehead and I'm sure tomorrow night will be al of the above. He's so much tougher than I expected, though. Such a strong boy :)

We brought out his little car last week and he loves it! I feel like he looks SO old when he's riding on it.

He also started tilting his head to the side to look at things. Another thing that cracks us up. Just getting new perspectives, I suppose :)

He is sleeping so so much better, thank goodness. I almost don't know what to do with myself at night when it only takes 15  minutes to put him down instead of 2 hours. Oh, but don't worry, I found things to do intead real quick. Naps are completely unpredicable. One day his morning nap was 30 minutes, the next day it was 3 hours. It's really hard to schedule the day when I have no idea when he'll wake up. :) I had to snap a picture one day during his nap. He's so goofy. Pay close attention to where is left foot is... :)

And...  random picture time.

I can't believe 6 months have already come and gone. We are savoring every minute with our sweet boy. We are so blessed to have such a sweet, happy, healthy baby. We love him more than words can say!!

Happy 7 Months, Sweet Boy!!

Can You Handle This?

Ahh I love this stud in all his bed head glory!!

(look for his 7 month post later today. Or tomorrow. Or, well, sometime before he is 8 months old)

Homecoming

My family just got back from vacation in Rome and a Mediteranian Cruise. They were only gone for 10 days, but it felt like an eternity!

Even though we didn't go with them {I couldn't possibly leave B for that long,} we all got some fun Italian presents.

It was so good to finally see them :)

Saturday Lunch

Michael's family came up to meet us for lunch at El Fenix today.

We loved seeing them and Bryson had so much fun being loved on :)

Fortunately, we get to see them all again at the family reunion next weekend :)
