Elf On The Shelf

As soon as Thanksgiving was over, we started talking a lot about Christmas. We told Bryson that he could ask Santa for an elf to come live with us for a while. We had been watching the Elf On The Shelf movie all year long and he knew good and well how the whole thing worked. :)

Well, one night we "heard" jingle bells in the front yard and had to go look to see what was there.
Santa left a gift just for Bryson on the front porch!

He even saw Santa fly by ;)

He was SO SO excited that it was his very own elf!

Daddy read him the story, but he wasn't too interested in the long book.
He was really just staring and waiting for the elf to jump out of the box and move ;)

We spent a lot of time trying to get him to name his elf, and we threw out tons of ideas for him, but he was absolutely adament that his name could only be Elf On The Shelf. Ha! So, our little red friend is just called elf....maybe next year he can have a real name.

Elf has been pretty obedient, we haven't had anything crazy. I didn't take pictures of all the days and he may or may not have even stayed in the same spot a few days in a row. :) He also doesn't "spy" on Bryson. He likes to go back and tell Santa all the nice, kind, big boy things that he does.

A few of the places he's landed:)

And, on his birthday, Elf was caught eating Bryson's birthday donut! He got a big kick out of that :)

I'm so excited about this fun tradition!!

Surprise Baby Shower!

Every month or two, Stephanie, Alicia and I get together for a girls night. We usually just stay out for a super long dinner of Mexican food and margaritas talking and laughing and catching up.

This month Alicia said she wanted to plan our girls outing for Chocolate Angel, a cute little tea room. It was a little out of the ordinary, but it sounded like a lot of fun and I was really excited!

Alicia picked me up and we made our way to the restaurant. I walked in and immediately saw someone that looked just like my mother-in-law. I looked around and saw other familiar faces and then realized it was my mother-in-law!! I was totally and completely shocked. I'm sure I had the most confused look on my face! :)

We took all sorts of pictures

and then I got to open the most adorable gifts for our litle girls!!

It was such a fun afternoon! After a delicious lunch, we went over to a couple boutique shops that had absolutely the most precious kid's things. Oh my goodness, if the dresses weren't $90, I would have taken 2 of every single one home with me!

These girls are so blessed that their family would go through so much to plan a special surpise shower for them!!

What A Wonderful Day!

I can't stop smiling!

1. Michael and I got to hear our baby's heart beat tonight!! It was the most wonderful sound my ears have ever heard. One of my friends is also pregnant and rented a fetal doppler monitor from a hostpital for a couple months and she has let me borrow it for a little while. We haven't heard the heart beat at the Dr's office yet since our appointmnt isn't until next Tuesday, so this was a huge treat!!! I really wanted to duck tape the wand to my belly so I could listen to it all night!

2. I also bought my diaper bag tonight! Yes, yes, I know I don't need it for like 6 more months, but I really wanted it! And I LOVE it! I've always wanted a really cute bag, not a gross Winnie The Pooh Bag or anything. So since a ton of girls at my school are pregnant, I've been looking at them all year and have absolutely fallen in love with the Fleurville Diaper Bags. They are waaay more than I wanted to pay for a diaper bag. BUT! I found it online for much cheaper and bought it! YAY!! Now I just need little Fantlet to come so I can use it! What do you think!?

AND!!! The icing on the cake....only a day and a half left of school!! :-)

My Sister's Engaged

YAY!! My sister got engaged last night! It was so exciting :)

We all (our family and Brandon's family) went out to eat last night for Jenn's birthday dinner. Everyone at the table knew he was going to propose in just a few short hours and had to act completely normal around her! It was VERY difficult not to show extreme excitement :) But we all managed...

Eating her birthday Flan and has NO clue what is going to happen when we get home!

So we got home, had birthday cheesecake, she opened her presents, and hung out for a while. My mom asked Michael and I to stand in front of the fireplace for our "traditional couples pictures" that we must take pretty much everytime we get together. Jenn didn't think anything of it because like I said, it definitely wasn't out of the ordinary for us. Then it was Jenn and Brandon's turn...

And he dropped to his knee and proposed!!!

Congratulations Jenn and Brandon!!

Enjoy every minute of your engagement!!!
