Nurse Stephanie

My sister's incredibly hard work over the past four years has paid off. She is officially a nurse!!

Stephanie graduated from Baylor this past weekend and had many fun ceremonies leading up to it.

Thursday, we went to her pinning ceremony.
Stephanie asked my grandma, who was a nurse for many years, to pin her. It was very special.

After lunch, she was inducted into her Honor Society. Smarty. :)

Back at home, it was time for pictures and presents!

Friday, we all traveled to Waco for the actual graduation ceremony.
YAY Nurse Steph!!

Reminiscing her runs on the Bear Trail

Now, she just has to wait until the middle of June, when she gets to begin her dream job at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.

We're so proud of you, Steph!! Love you!!!

Convocation

I love convocation! I know a lot of districts have convocation at the beginnning of the year and it's a bust, but Plano is quite the exception.

Convocation is the one time of year that every single employee in the entire district from teachers and bus drivers to administration and janitorial staff get together for a massive pep rally and welcome the new year.
All 8,000 of us pack into Prestonwood Baptist Church and listen to a few speeches, talk about how we can further help our students succeed and even all perform a (semi) coreographed dance together. HA! I got a short clip of it with my phone. It was funnier in person :)

Also, Dr. Doug Otto, our Superintendent, gave an awesome speech about how we as learners are always changing and how we can adapt our teaching skills to accomodate their needs. He showed a video with stats about "Social Media" that was really eye opening. It's not on You Tube yet, so it's just an old fashioned link, but you won't be sorry that you spent the extra 1.5 seconds to copy and paste it. :)

I am really excited about this year, but am SO overwhelmed with everything going on at work and with Bryson starting daycare (a whole post on it's own...later. All I can say is pray, pray, pray. Poor baby is having a hard time, and so is mommy.) and a lot more things on my plate right now. But I am ready to see the sweet smiling faces of my kids in a few days!!

*gasp* A post without pictures of Bryson!?

Oh Sweet, Sweet Summer!

Today is my first official day of Summer break and it has been wonderful!

I skipped my 4:30am wake up call and slept in until B woke up at 7:30!! I love mornings with Bryson; he is so happy and lovey.
We had a pretty busy day of running errands.

We took Orion to the vet, came home for B's nap, went to Babies R Us and Target, came home to have lunch with Michael, B took  nap and I made some baby food. We read a lot of books, sang songs, sat up and played with toys, and had so so much fun! I loooved being home with him. :)

So, like I mentioned, I made some baby food today. We haven't given him any solids yet, but since I'm home, I figured I'd go ahead and start. We'll probably start after his 6 month appointment. I'll be honest, I got a bit emotional making the food. I can't believe he's growing up so fast and I can't believe he's getting to where he needs more than just milk. I'm really excited about making his food though :) I decided to make sweet potatoes first, and boy did I make some sweet potatoes!! I didn't realize it would make so much. Sure hope he likes sweet potatoes! Ha!

Bryson LOVES mirrors. He gets so happy when he sees a "friend" across from him. Well, I put a mirror on the floor with Bryson today and he went nuts!! He's been scooting across the floor for a while now, but with the mirror down there, he was dying to get across the room! SO cute!!

I had so much fun with my sweet boy today; I'm so excited about the rest of Summer break!!

He's been working so hard for the past 2 years and is finally finished :) I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of him!! I also can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to be able to have him home with us instead of down on campus 2-3 nights a week!

The graduate!

It was REALLY sunny outside

Michael's parent's threw him a really sweet graduation party that night

You did it!

My sister in law, Rebecca, and her fiance, Beau graduated from UT two weekends ago!! YAY!

I really wish I could have been there to see them walk across the stage, but everyone figured it would probably be best if I stayed here "just in case."  :)

The Fants plus Beau :)

We're so proud of y'all!!

Rebecca was accepted to UT Southwestern Medical School, so they'll be living in Dallas for the next 4 years and I am SO excited about that!

What A Wonderful Day!

I can't stop smiling!

1. Michael and I got to hear our baby's heart beat tonight!! It was the most wonderful sound my ears have ever heard. One of my friends is also pregnant and rented a fetal doppler monitor from a hostpital for a couple months and she has let me borrow it for a little while. We haven't heard the heart beat at the Dr's office yet since our appointmnt isn't until next Tuesday, so this was a huge treat!!! I really wanted to duck tape the wand to my belly so I could listen to it all night!

2. I also bought my diaper bag tonight! Yes, yes, I know I don't need it for like 6 more months, but I really wanted it! And I LOVE it! I've always wanted a really cute bag, not a gross Winnie The Pooh Bag or anything. So since a ton of girls at my school are pregnant, I've been looking at them all year and have absolutely fallen in love with the Fleurville Diaper Bags. They are waaay more than I wanted to pay for a diaper bag. BUT! I found it online for much cheaper and bought it! YAY!! Now I just need little Fantlet to come so I can use it! What do you think!?

AND!!! The icing on the cake....only a day and a half left of school!! :-)

Spring Break!

One of the perks of being a teacher is Spring Break! I have no plans for the week except to clean the house a little, take Orion to the dog park, sleep in late and shop a lot. I'm quite excited about it :)
It would be even better if Michael got a Spring Break and didn't have to go to work all week too!

Happy Spring Break!! :)
