Un Oh...

We're in trouble!

Bryson has learned a plethora of new things lately and I've realized it's time to start baby-proofing the house!!

This past weekend Bryson learned how to sit up by himself. I put him down in his crib and went in to check on him a little while later and he was sitting up! I did a double take and then ran to get Michael! At the speed I was running and the high pitch-ness of my voice, I'm sure Michael thought I was absolutely crazy!! Now that he knows how to sit up, he does it literally 100 times a day. Yesterday, he crawled over to his toy bin, sat himself up, realized he was too far away to reach anything, layed down, crawled closer and then got out a book. Smart kid!! :)

He also has started crawling. Not "I'm going to go and chase the dog all over the house" crawling, but slow paced, thought out movement. Still, his hands and knees are moving in rhythm and he can go about a foot or two until he splats on his belly and then has to push himself back up and start over. Crawling is crawling, right!? Oh man, he's getting so old!!

Yeah, I'm not really sure, but I think B is trying to do some yoga! Ha! He gets in "downward dog" all the time and it cracks me up!

He's also pulled himself up on his knees several times :)

All that to say, I got nervous that he might try to do his new tricks in his crib, so today I decided it was time to lower it down to the next level.

At one point I looked over and Bryson had learned how to open his dresser drawers! The knobs are really big (like his puzzle handles) so they were easy to hold. He opened and shut it several times and pulled all of his swim suits out.

My goodness, kid, slow down.

He is such a (cute) little booger!!

  1. Oh my goodness! What a big boy to do all those things! Ava wants to crawl so badly, but she just can't get the momentum behind it once she gets into position. She's pulling up onto her knees, but I'd really like her to slow down! I was looking forward to her being stationary for a while!

  2. Oh wow! How fun, what a milestone! Be sure to post how you handle the dresser drawers, I'll need tips for 9 months from now :) Is his dresser anchored to the wall?
