I have been determined to get bluebonnet pictures this year. We have tried several times, but one thing or another always came up.
Well, this week, I was going to make it happen.
I got the girls all packed and ready.
Convinced Bryson to change out of "running clothes". (a HUGE accomplishment)
Michael left work early to meet us.
Made it to the field we went to 2 years ago with beautiful bluebonnets...
ooooh how adorable and tiny!
and there was not a single stinkin' bluebonnet!!
The entire field was covered in weeds 3 feet tall and red wild flowers.
But after all of that work, by golly, I was going to get pictures.
It was quite chilly for the last week in April and Bryson definitely let us know he would much rather be wearing his running clothes. And he definitely didn't want to smile. Mr. Grumpy Gills was NOT feelin' the pictures that day. Thankyouterriblethrees.
The weeds were out of control.
The sun was crazy bright.
The boy (with a giant scrape on his forehead) refused to smile.
But, somehow, we managed to get a few cute pictures.
Definitely not what I was going for, but that's just life these days :)
I'm still holding out hope for some real bluebonnet pictures. Maybe next week?
I'm definitely bringing candy to bribe a certain someone to smile.
I'm sooo not above bribing that kid ;)
I think the pictures turned out great! The girls look precious in the basket. And Bryson looks like he's smiling when you and Michael are in the picture with him. I have a feeling next year's pictures will be chaos for us.
ReplyDeleteBasket of beautiful babies... so precious! I have yet to ever attempt bluebonnet pics. So kudos to you!
DeleteI ADORE the babies in a basket!!! What a perfect way to prop them up for pics. I think your pictures turned out great! I left in a terrible mood after ours because I hated most of them. I wasn't getting what I had envisioned. However, Once I got home, I looked at them again and found that they weren't so bad after all. And I bribe Presley every single time...
ReplyDeleteI've always heard that blue bonnets bloom every other year. When I was growing up, there were a ton of them out where we lived but the same fields weren't usually full 2 years in a row. Just a heads up for the future. The pictures turned out really cute, though!

ReplyDeleteFirst, I bribe Asher for EVERY single picture he takes with Hadley. I'm hoping it never fails because right now that's the only way he'll even sit with her! ha! I think the babies in the basket are so cute. I can only imagine how tough it was to get everyone dressed and out the door, only to find no flowers - boooo! Still love the pics and hoping you get the ones you really want soon!
ReplyDeleteAww, I think they're cute! And I love the whole family one - so precious!
