Pre-Christmas Happenings :)

We have had so many fun Christmas activities this month and I haven't even gotten close to puting all the fun things on here... ;)

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, Bryson went to the Dallas Athletic Club with Grandma and Papa for an exciting afternoon!! They made a special gingerbread house!

They mailed a letter to Santa

He got to make cookies with the chef! They took all the kids on a tour of the huge kitchen and even went into the walk-in deep freezer. Melony said he kept shivering and telling her it was so cold in there, it was making his apron cold! :)

We usually put up Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving, but I just never got to it. I was just flat out exhausted after work everyday. Well into the first week of December, the only thing that was in our house was a bare Christmas tree and a billion full boxes of decorations.
Well, we were at my parent's house one Sunday (who already had all their decorations out) and were talking about Santa and how Bryson gets to ask Santa for something for Christmas. He told us he just needed to "ask Santa for ornaments for our Christmas tree at home." Oh goodness, talk about worst mother of the year!! I felt SO bad!! SO, the very next day, the second we got home from school, you better believe we decorated that little Christmas tree of ours!!
He was so excited to decorate! His areas may or may not have been heavily concentrated with ornaments ;)

He made a Christmas wish list at school. We got a kick out of the last one ;)

We were getting ready for our ABF Christmas party and Bryson noticed we had changed out of our work clothes and suddenly excliamed, "oh!! I almost forgot to put on my party clothes!!" he ran out of our bedroom and came back wearing a swim shirt, new underwear and a swimsuit! HAH! Apparently, those are his "party clothes"!! He refused to take off his shirt. I'm learning to pick my battles, folks, and this was not one I was going to fight! Fortunately, we got him to put on khaki pants and I threw a sweater on him, but about 2 mins after we got there, he took it off. So, our lovely son wore a (insideout) swim shirt to a Christmas party. HAHA!

We went to Michael's big work Christmas party and Bryson got to stay home with Aunt Steph and Trey! He loved playing with them! (This was a few days later...what is his obsession his this swim shirt!?)

We ate entirely way too much and played a lot of Poker! It was fun spending the night away with Michael :)

~~~~
We had a little Christmas fondue and hot chocolate at Ray and Alicia's house a while back. Bryson ate his weight in marshmellows and chocolate. Surprise surprise!!
~~~~

Michael's work team had another smaller Christmas party and rented out a room at Dave & Buster's. It was a family party, so Bryson loved loved playing all the games!!
(he's going to think we go to arcade places all the time- Chuck E Cheese, Dave and Busters, and Gatti Town!! ha!)

~~~~
We went on our yearly drive to look at Christmas lights. We went to Deerfield and holy moly, everything was outrageously decorated! It was so fun watching Bryson get so excited about everything.
We made our Christmas pretzels again this year. I have the best little helper, he always has to be right in the action. He was great at rolling the dough, he told me it was just like his blue play-doh :)
(he had to have a wardrobe change...he's obsessed with changing clothes!!)
3 years old!!
I can't belive we have a 3 year old!! Bryson has brought us so much joy and laughter and we are so so thankful for our little man.
It was hard not being able to be with him all day on his birthday this year. We usually get out of school early enough that we're already on Christmas Break, but not this year :( So Michael got to have all the birthday fun with him Friday morning.
He woke up to Michael singing Happy Birthday to him, but he was summoned to stop immediately because "you can only sing happy birthday if you have a cake with free candles with fire one top"
So he changed into school clothes and found his special birthday donut that his Elf had started to eat :)
He had a fun birthday celebration/Christmas party at school and was so excited to tell all his friends he was 3!
After Michael got home, Bryson had a couple little gifts to open. We gave him our gifts at his party a while back, but thought he definitely needed something special to open!
Then, we headed over to dinner at Gatti Town. It's a pizza restaurant/game place kind of like Chuck E Cheese, but they have a really fun miniature bowling alley, carousel, and a swinging pirate ship.
He is really really into playing all the arcade games right now (and I'm pretty sure he won't grow out of that for quite a while!)
With all his tickets, he chose to buy a "hulongous pink baseball bat". Michael pushed for the red one, but he was set on pink ;)
The other big milestone was that the PaciFairy was going to come on his 3rd birthday to take all of his pacis to the babies. We've talked about it A LOT so he wasn't thrown off guard. He never ever took a paci until after his 1st birthday and then he was hooked. We nixed it during the day when he turned 2, so for the last year he's only had it at naptime and night time (or we let him have it if he was sick or had to make sure sure he was calm--like at friend's houses at night for a party or something).
He knew it was coming, we knew it was coming, but no one was really thrilled about it. I fully expected a full on fit Friday night.
We found a box, rounded up all the pacis and wrote a note and drew a picture for the fairy. He left it right outside his bedroom door and we went in for our normal bedtime routine. He asked for it a couple times, but nothing too bad. In the next 30 minutes, he had to get up to "go to the bathroom" twice (I'm pretty sure it was to make sure the box was still there) but then fell asleep peacefully!!  Hooray!!
The next morning, he woke up to his "big boy present" that the PaciFairy left for him. He LOVED it!! It's a walking, talking, light up robot and he thought it was the greatest thing ever!!
He couldn't wait for Daddy to wake up to show him his new gift!!
I put him down again tonight without a paci. He asked for it once, but then fell asleep peacefully within 5 minutes. Success!!
I'm sure there will be some rough days without it in the future, but for now it's a thing of the past! :)
Happy Birthday to our big three year old!!
Santa Claus
Last weekend, we went to our favorite spot for pictures with Santa. It was a family affair :)
We had been talking up taking a picture with Santa for a looong time in hopes that we wouldn't have a repeat of last year
or the year before
We got there a little early, so we hung out with two of Santa's reindeer and talked to a couple of his elves
Santa still wasn't ready, so after he pretended to be Santa for a minute, we went over to Corner Bakery for a bit. Bryson totally knows how to work Papa, look at his breakfast...chocolate cake!! ha!
B couldn't wait to go see Santa!! The entire morning he kept telling us he was going to sit on Santa's lap and ask him for a cheese hamburger. Haha!
But he got a little shy when he was sitting on his cozy lap and just told him he'd mail him a list ;)
Then we all got to jump in for a picture. All except Brandon and Trey, they all of a sudden "had to go to the bathroom". party poopers!
We tried to take some other fun pictures, but all he wanted was his sucker. He's pretty obsessed with candy right now.
I'm so glad he loved seeing Santa this year!!
